Setting up your Extension
To get started
- Install the 3CX app from the Google Play Store if you haven't already.
- Agree to the license agreement during the installation process.
- Grant the app access to your camera for QR code provisioning.
- Scan the QR code provided in your Welcome Email, web client, desktop app, or PWA.
- Make a test call to the "Echo service" to grant necessary permissions.
- Give authorization and complete the call to finish the setup.
Placing a Call with the 3CX Android App
Making calls with the 3CX Android app is quick and simple. Follow these steps:
- Open the "Contacts" section in the app.
- Search for a contact by name, number, or email address.
- Click the phone icon next to the contact to initiate the call.
While on a call, you can perform various actions seamlessly, such as:
- Transfer- Choose between a blind transfer or an attended transfer after speaking with the recipient.
- Conference- Create a conference call and add participants on the fly.
- Rec- Record your conversation.
- Video- Enable video for face-to-face communication during the call.
Using Google Assistant to Make Calls
Leverage the power of Google Assistant to make calls through 3CX with ease. Simply use voice commands like:
- "OK Google, call [contact name] using 3CX."
- "OK Google, call [number] using 3CX."
Note the following
- If a single contact with one number is found, the call is initiated immediately.
- If a contact has multiple numbers, you can choose the desired number within the 3CX app.
- In case of multiple contacts with the same name, the app will prompt you to select the correct one.
Ensure the following for proper setup
- Enable Google Assistant on your device.
- Set both the device and Google Assistant region to "English (US)."
- Install the 3CX app and have an active account.
How to Schedule a Video or Call Conference
Easily schedule a video or call conference using the 3CX Android app
- Tap the menu button in the top left corner of the app and select "Schedule."
- Add a subject for the conference and choose the date and time.
- Enable the "Video" option for a video conference.
- Leave the "Add to Calendar" option enabled to create an event in your device's calendar and invite participants.
- Add participants by selecting existing contacts or entering their email addresses.
Note the following
- Once the conference is created, participant modifications are not possible.
- You can share the conference via various apps available on your device, such as Viber, WhatsApp, or Bluetooth.
Create an Ad-hoc Conference
During an ongoing call, you can effortlessly add participants on the fly:
- Click the "Conference" button on the dial pad.
- Search for participants by name, extension, or phone number.
- Tap to call and automatically add them to the conference.
- Click on the video icon to elevate to a video call during the ongoing call.

Utilize the Status feature to indicate your availability and avoid distractions:
