How to set up your extension in the 3CX app for iOS

Process


Step 1 Install the 3CX iOS App

  • Open the App Store on your iOS device.
  • Search for "3CX" in the search bar.
  • Tap on the 3CX app from the search results.
  • Tap the "Install" button to download and install the app.

Step 2 Launch the App and Accept Permissions

  • Open the 3CX app on your iOS device.
  • Read and accept the license agreement.
  • Authorize the app to access necessary permissions such as camera and microphone.

Step 3 Locate Your 3CX QR Code

  • Check your Welcome Email for the QR code. If you can't find it, ask your administrator to resend it.
  • Alternatively, in your web client, go to "Settings > Scan QR Code" to find your unique QR code.

Step 4 Configure Your Extension

  • Open the 3CX app on your iOS device.
  • Scan the QR code from your Welcome Email or the web client.
  • The app will automatically configure your extension.
  • Once configured, you will see a message indicating that you are "Ready for calls."

Step 5 Make a Call on Your iOS Device

  • Use the dial pad to enter a phone number.
  • Tap the "Call" button to make a call.
  • You can also access your contacts by tapping on "Contacts" and search by name, extension number, or email address.
  • Congratulations! You have made your first call using the 3CX iOS app.

Step 6 Additional Call Features

  • While on an active call, you can perform various actions:
  • Transfer the call directly or after speaking to the receiver.
  • Add more participants to the call for a conference.
  • Record the conversation.
  • Add video to the call.
  • Place the current call on hold to make a new one.

Step 7 Schedule a Conference Call or Video Call

  • Tap on the menu button  in the top left corner of the app.
  • Select "Schedule" to create a conference call.
  • Add the subject, date, and time for the conference.
  • Enable the "Video" option for a video conference.
  • Optionally, enable "Add to Calendar" to create an event and add participants.
  • Save the conference call.

Step 8 Create an Ad-Hoc Conference

  • During an ongoing call, click the "Conference" button on the dial pad.
  • Search for participants by name, extension, or phone number.
  • Tap the contact or number to add them to the call.
  • To elevate to a video call, simply click on the video icon.

Step 9 Share Your Availability with Status

  • Use the "Status" feature to inform colleagues of your availability.
  • Choose from available options like "Available," "Away," "Do Not Disturb," etc.
  • Customize your status and forwarding rules in the app settings.
